Now that the cats appear to be settled, Sylvia and I decided to try to go for a bit of a sail. Our first port is Nanaimo where we can top up with supplies more easily than Vancouver. Unfortunately the forecast turned out to be pretty accurate and for most of the day there was very little wind, so we had to motor most of the way across the Strait of Georgia. We sailed for a bit in English Bay in the morning before the wind abandoned us, and also managed to sail for about an hour as we got closer to Nanaimo, but otherwise it was all motoring. We have now picked up a mooring in Mark Bay for the night.

Tomorrow we will go alongside the marina to do a few chores. Then, after Nanaimo we will explore some of the Gulf Islands for a few days.  We might even meet up with Sylvia's daughter who is sailing the islands in her own boat, though she seems to be a rather elusive soul, so perhaps not.

All is well.
