It is high time we started making tracks as I think it is safe to say the cyclone season will be well and truly over by the time I clear out of Tahiti. I have heard on the yachtie grape vine that Papeete harbour is a bit of a mess so I am heading for Moorea instead. This is an island only 10 miles from Tahiti. There is a marina there where I can prepare Sylph for the next bit of ocean, in particular fill up the water tanks which are getting a little low, potable water being in short supply in Rangiroa, and there is a ferry service between Moorea and Papeete so if possible I will try to clear out without having to take Sylph into Papeete harbour.

After collecting my bread order this morning and delivering Keld his loaf I prepared Sylph for sea and weighed anchor. The breeze has been light but consistent and Sylph is making good progress.

All is well.
