And Closer
Alongside Mar Del Plata, Argentina. And closer . . . Today’s mission was to embark kitty litter, a rather important item if we are gong to be away from any major civilization for a while. This afternoon I met with the sail maker again, he provided me with some quotes for new sails. I am hoping the blown out headsail will be replaced by the supplier back in the US, I am putting in an order a new mainsail. Unfortunately it won’t be ready until mid April - ridiculous! I suspect that it is extremely unlikely that the mainsail will hold out that long so my plan is to get as far as I can, see where we end up then get the sail sent to wherever we happen to be, providing of course we are somewhere within cooee of an airfield or the like. With luck we might make it to Valparaiso. Pato, the sail maker, looked a little incredulous at this plan, I think he will be surprised if we make it to Ushuaia. Oh well, one thing for sure, I am not hanging around here until mid- April. All is well. Bob Cat: Darn tootin’ my sanitary requirements should be afforded the highest priority, we have our dignity to maintain after all. I am prepared to accept certain hardships but there are limits. I shall sleep peacefully tonight knowing at least the basics have been taken care of. Meantime, I might just check to make sure that the inside of my eyelids are in good working order . . . Zzzzzzzz. |
