My first walk ashore yesterday evening was a little depressing, being back in a city. They are mostly all the same, cities; noisy, dirty, covered in concrete, speeding traffic, a few homeless people sitting destitute on the side walks, and otherwise full of shops selling lots of stuff no one really needs. Though I will say they are very useful for the things one does need, like food and boat bits. One big cruise ship is in, a couple of luxury yachts and old Sylph is looking a little incongruous and lonely on the pontoon here, the only yacht, and hardly very flash, though of course the prettiest boat by a long shot, not that I am biased at all.

Today I went for another walk, found the supermarket, bought some mostly useful stuff, i.e. food, then did a little varnishing to pass the time.

All is well.
