It has been over a month since I have added to Sylph’s blog and another year has passed. Since then I have completed an alongside maintenance period, including cutting some unused inspection ports from out of the cockpit which were nothing more than rust traps, refurbishing the cable locker, and numerous other sundry jobs. On the 10th, Kate’s cat, Oli, joined the ship as the acting ship’s cat (RC is still the official ship’s cat, albeit in exile) and on the 15th Kate joined as first mate.  Kate and Oli are planning on being with us for at least a few months to see if they enjoy the life.  If they do, well, we’ll see what happens next in due course.

For now, we are heading towards Kangaroo Island, likely to stop at American River for a day or so, before heading on towards Robe when a favourable weather pattern presents.  In Robe we will have a fourth crew member join us for about a month to lead us in an environmental project in the waters offshore of Robe. I will reveal more info on this as the situation unfolds.

After Robe I am looking forward to some more adventurous sailing, hopefully much of it beyond our local shores.

All is well.
