Today's major achievement has been to get 'Windows Live Mail' to work on the netbook (oh, and the laundry). I had to reboot the whole system which then means I have to reload everything, programmes, data and drivers, from scratch, but it seems to have done the trick. This will save me a lot of messing around with communications at sea, which I have had to put up with for the past couple of months.

Now I am about to send this blog update and see if today's efforts come to fruition. Only problem I have now is in all the shuffling around I have been doing between computers I have managed to misplace a memory stick which has a lot of important stuff on it. Memory sticks are great because they are so small and convenient, and you can put so much stuff on them these days, which is of course also their major downfall. They are so small that they are easy to misplace, and because you can put so much stuff on them losing one can become a minor catastrophe. Most of the stuff on it is backed up, but . . . I am not sure what is not. Still, I think I can safely say that overall today has been a step forward.

All is well.
