Not much to report,
miaintenance as always with Sylph and went into town to do some essential
shopping.
I have been saving this for
a slow news day.
While I was in Talcahuano I
received an email from the grandson, Brett Lawson, of one of the brothers
who built and owned Sylph. He sent me some photos of Sylph being
launched.
"Sylph in cradle in Pop’s yard in Crown
St:
"leaving the yard:
"on
the journey down Crown St crossing William St:
"Down at Woolloomooloo ready to
float:
"In the Water:
"Under spinnaker circa
1970:"
Now this last is my
unmistakable Sylph. I sure would love to get my hands on a spinnaker
for her.
Thank you Brett. I
feel priveleged to be keeping this old girl going and I hope one day
I will find someone worthy to take over the reigns.
All is well.
Bob Cat:
OK, so my abode is older
than me. Good thing Brett's gandfather did such a good job building
Sylph, little did he realise that she would eventually be carrying such
valuable cargo, i.e. ME! Now where was I, oh yes (no tuna) ....
