It has been almost two weeks of hard yakka and we are now at last ready to
hit the drink, i.e. go back into the water, not hit the turps, though it has
been tempting. I had just finished patching up the hole I mentioned in the
last post when I found a bubble in the paint work down near the keel. I
dug it out and under the bubble was a tiny bit of pitting.
Suspicious, I scraped it out and sure enough found a small hole in the
hull. Once again I donned safety gear, broke out the angle grinder and
went to work. This time I decided I would have a go at doing the welding
myself. It took me a lot longer than the Professional, but I am reasonably
pleased with the result.
