Hitting the Drink

Position:  On the hard, CCYS - still
Wind:  South east,  F4 moderate breeze
Sea: Asphalt calm
Weather:  sunny, warm.

It has been almost two weeks of hard yakka and we are now at last ready to hit the drink, i.e. go back into the water, not hit the turps, though it has been tempting.  I had just finished patching up the hole I mentioned in the last post when I found a bubble in the paint work down near the keel.  I dug it out and under the bubble was a tiny bit of pitting.   Suspicious, I scraped it out and sure enough found a small hole in the hull.  Once again I donned safety gear, broke out the angle grinder and went to work.  This time I decided I would have a go at doing the welding myself.  It took me a lot longer than the Professional, but I am reasonably pleased with the result.
