Light Winds
Noon Position: 35 32.4 S 138 06.0 E
We weighed anchor at 0815 this morning, motored clear of Myponga Bay, then set the main. The breeze has been mostly light from the SE and we have at times set the jib, the new code zero, or simply motored. We have now passed Cape Jervis and are crossing Backstairs Passage, making our way towards Eastern Cove, Kangaroo Island. The wind has once again faded away but we are now open to a one meter swell from the SE, causing Sylph to roll while going nowhere. We have resorted to the BRM to get us across the strait so as to be able to anchor off American Beach before sunset. All is well. |
