More Light Headwinds
Noon Position: 38 34.7 S 141 31.6 E Winds continue light, just enough to keep the sails drawing and Sylph moving at an average of close to four knots, so I am happy. Looking at the forecast, light winds, mostly from ahead, are expected until Friday when they will freshen, still from the wrong direction. The longer range forecast has a front coming through Bass Strait late Sunday with fair winds behind it. My current thinking is to pull into Apollo Bay for a couple of days so as to get in synch with the front and be rounding Gabo Island on Monday. Apollo Bay is 120nm away so with a little luck we should get there tomorrow afternoon. There we can have a bit of a rest and top up fresh supplies. All is well. |
