On Sunday we left Horseshoe Bay and sailed to Breakwater Marina, Townsville to do the laundry, top up supplies, and meet a friend who was passing through on Monday. That done, this morning we got going bright and early to make the most of the light southerly breeze before it freshened from the east. We have since enjoyed a short pleasant sail to the first cape from Townsville on our way south, coming to anchor in six feet of water at 1130. The swell is wrapping around the cape as our cruising guide warns so Sylph is rolling a little. We intend to go for a row ashore and a leg stretch after lunch. If it is excessively rolley when we get back we can always move a little further into Cleveland Bay.

From here the plan is to work our way south as the winds allow, anchoring behind the numerous capes between Townsville and the Whitsunday Group. Our next major stop will be Mackay to hopefully catch up with brother Michael for one last time before continuing back to NSW waters.

All is well.
