We have made a good run over the last 24 hours with a steady breeze off our port quarter allowing us to run wing-on-wing since clearing Hervey Bay.

That's the good news. On the down side I have just received notice from Keppel Bay Marina that they won't allow me to berth there as they no longer accept my insurance company, Edward William. This morning I checked the website for Breakwater Marina in Townsville and found they also will not accept vessels covered by Edward William as of 1 July this year, so I am expecting this is going to be a problem until I can organise alternative insurance.

The reason I am insured with Edward William in the first place is that they are one of the few (perhaps only) insurance company that will provide global cover for boats of Sylph's age, particularly steel boats, and especially if they are single-handed. While I have never made a claim with Edward William (or any marine insurance company for that matter), and, touch wood, trust that I never will, presumably marinas have experienced problems with the company in this part of the world. I can see this is going to complicate my life considerably. For the time being I will have to manage by remaining at anchor, which is not particularly a problem as I have done this for many years on my travels.

My immediate challenge is finding somewhere to resupply. At this stage Airlie Beach looks like the best spot, 250 miles distant. Oli and I are in no danger of running out of food or water at this point, though I will be living mostly from tinned food for the next few days. Tonight I will most likely anchor off Great Keppel Island (Wop-pa).

All is well.
