Slow Start
Noon Position: 36 25.2 S 138 53.8 E The wind remained light to non-existent for longer than I had anticipated and we spent much of last night drifting around off Cape Jaffa going precisely nowhere, in fact for a while I was concerned that we would not make it to the shelter of Kangaroo Island before Sunday when the next front is forecast to be passing through our region. But at 2 a.m. a useful breeze at last made itself felt, I got the sails back up and now we are close reaching to a nice breeze from the south-west. I expect the wind will continue to freshen and veer more into the west later, which will head us. With luck we might make it around Cape Jervis before it gets too fresh so we can ease sheets and bear away towards Adelaide. All is
well. |
