Running the Gauntlet
Position: alongside San Diego Yacht Club Today my friend Danny organised for Sylph to stay overnight back at the San Diego Yacht Club. Thank you Danny. It is much more convenient than the A9 anchorage under the airport. Thus, this morning I ran the gauntlet back from A9 to La Playa, casting an eye left and right for US Coast Guard vessels, but there were none to be seen. I was almost disappointed. Back alongside the SDYC, I now have the essential tasks completed for our short sail to Ensenada, Mexico, in particular we have the email from the Mexican immigration department giving us permission to enter the country. Tomorrow morning I will catch a bus to the Custom's office in the city to do the final clearing out of the US and will aim to be underway in the early afternoon, when I hope we might have a little breeze to sail overnight. All is well. |
