Old Sylph just keeps bimbling along wing on wing before the trades, putting in a good consistent run each day. I managed to obtain a lunar distance this morning but when I crunched the numbers through the computer if I varied my assumed longitude it came up with a significantly different calculated longitude each time, so there is something wrong somewhere. Of course being software I am unable to find out what it is that is going wrong. I shall have to obtain a copy of the old fashioned printed nautical almanac so I can crunch it all out long hand and actually see what is what. Something to keep the mind occupied. 29 days at sea, three days to go to the Marquesas and a cold beer.

All is well.
