It has been a straight forward run up the coast from Montague Island. With the fresh to strong S to SW breeze behind us, we averaged 6.4 knots and only in the last hour has the wind abandoned us. We now crawl along the coast between Botany Bay and Port Jackson with only ten miles to the heads. Sylph's sails slat noisily as she rolls to the confused swells.

After such a great run from Melbourne, it seems a shame to have to start the motor for the last few miles. I will wait another half hour or so. Hopefully sufficient breeze might fill in to keep the sails full and carry us over the threshold, and Sylph back to her original home waters.

All is well.
