On Monday I got the repaired dorade vents back from the panel beater, yesterday I applied a couple of coats of epoxy primer to them, and this morning I re-fitted them. After a getting Sylph squared away for sea we got underway from the marina a little before midday and with a light easterly breeze blowing we were able to enjoy a very pleasant sail out of the river. Now we have cleared Outer Harbour and are trying to make our way south down the Gulf of St Vincent, but the wind has abandoned us and for now we are drifting. Not to worry, a fresh breeze is forecast for later this evening so I am anticipating a good overnight sail.
We will probably head for Kangaroo Island and spend tomorrow night to catch up with a young friend I made while staying in Adelaide Marina, who owns a Compass 28. He left Adelaide late last week and is currently in KI, so I figure I would make a social call before continuing on our way to the next Williams clan gathering in Melbourne.
All is well.
