Conditions have pretty much turned out as expected, though we never did get those nice fresh northerlies that were predicted prior to leaving Adelaide. Rather, we had little more than a gentle breeze for a mere twelve hours with very light airs overnight. Consequently, we have not made as much progress as I was hoping for and, as I had feared, we are now punching into a rising wind and sea with forty miles still to go to the shelter of Guichen Bay.

Oh well, at least all the shore grime will be washed off by the time we get to Robe, replaced by a patina of glistening salt.

I think it is getting time to think about a reef.

All is well.
