We ran before a light steady breeze for most of yesterday, then, a little after midnight, the wind veered into the north-east and freshened. By four we were close reaching with a reef in the main, the genoa partly furled, spray over the decks, Sylph punching her way into the short seas at six to seven knots. Come sunrise the wind started to ease, reef shaken out, once more under full sail. But now the wind has left us. the sails handed and we motor. Cabo Falso is 25 miles away, Le Paz another 150 miles from there. I hope to be in La Paz by Monday.

I broke a tooth last night while eating some popcorn. Bother! I wonder what the dentists are like in Guaymas.

All is well.
