We continue to plug our way south, under a triple reefed main and the staysail, waiting for the wind to back more into the south so as to make the tack towards Australia more favourable. If we were to tack now in this strong breeze we would probably do little better than retrace our south bound track. I am expecting the wind to shift around noon tomorrow so will most likely tack and at last start heading west (-ish) again sometime in the afternoon.

Conditions have moderated quite a bit, still quite windy and the waves lumpy, but significantly more comfortable than the previous 48 hours. The wind vane is now back in alignment and is steering Sylph.

ETA Sydney: ??? no earlier than the 1st I’d say, more likely the 2nd.

All is well.
