Conditions continue mild and relaxing, hardly the slog I was anticipating a few days back. Yesterday afternoon the winds veered and eased sufficiently to allow full sail, which we have retained since. Strong winds remain forecast for Wednesday, of thirty knots or so, but the lazy sailing of the past few days, and hopefully another day of it, should allow us to be in a good position by then to deal with them. If all goes according to plan, when the strong winds arrive we will be far enough north to be able to put the wind abaft the beam and still make good a course for Okinawa. Thursday should see the winds veer back into the north east and moderate, and again if all goes according to my careful calculations (not very likely), we will still be able to keep the wind on the beam, or perhaps even abaft of it, and be in Naha for the weekend.

All is well.
