My plan yesterday was to stop in the Clarence River; however, overnight the conditions have been so pleasant, with a gentle beam breeze, smooth seas, and a bright full moon lighting our way, that when we passed the River's entrance at 0200 this morning I could not bring myself to dousing sail and drifting to await daylight and the tide to enter. So we kept on going.

Now we have just passed Cape Byron and Southport is only 42 miles ahead. We continue to make good a speed of four knots, running wing-on-wing to a port quartering breeze. Hopefully the breeze will hold for the rest of the way to Southport but, with such a short distance to go, if necessary we can motor.

For now we keep on sailing.

All is well.
