We sailed from Chowder Bay to Rushcutters Bay last Saturday where we have been kindly loaned a mooring off my old sailing club, the RAN Sailing Association. Thank you Chris. In the last week I have caught up with a few friends and, as always, continued a spot of maintenance, mostly some varnishing, as the weather allows. One little job I got around to today was repairing the emergency HF antenna that feeds the small portable SSB receiver. This little receiver uses very little power, running off double A batteries, and is great for pulling in weather reports and weather faxes, as well as general listening when offshore, so I am pleased that this is working again. I have been asked to give a presentation at my club this Friday about our non-stop single-handed circumnavigation, so a major task is preparing something for that. And today I turn 65, which reminds me that I had best get a few more adventures in while I am still able. All is well. |
