The wind has at last turned fair. Hooray!

Yesterday afternoon the wind freshened and just before sunset I had to put a reef in the mainsail. Sylph was sailing well under the full main but unfortunately the strain on the old sail caused another tear near the clew. I repaired it this morning when the wind eased with a patch and contact adhesive so we are now back under full main. Hopefully the sail will get us back to NSW okay.

The forecast is for the wind to freshen but to remain in the north for the next few days so, with a little luck, we should make good some miles.

All is well.
