The winds were once again very light overnight, but fortunately the seas had
quietened down and there was no sign of any large cumulonimbus. There is
still a swell running, but long and low so what little wind there was was
sufficient to keep the sails full and drawing. We sailed on through the
night under mainsail and drifter, making an average speed of about three
knots. Now, however, the wind has all but abandoned us. We motor.

A sea of fools:

Any fool can carry on, but a wise man knows how to shorten sail in time.
-Joseph Conrad

Any damn fool can navigate the world sober. It takes a really good sailor to
do it drunk.
-Sir Francis Chichester while loading his boat with gin.

Only fools and passengers drink at sea.
-Allan Villiers

There are only two colors to paint a boat, black or white, and only a fool
would paint a boat black.
-Nathanael G. Herreshoff

Yea, foolish mortals, Noah's flood is not yet subsided; two thirds of the
fair world it yet covers.
Herman Melville

All is well.
