Ashore at Raibow Boat Yard, Seward Today has been a long and tiring day. As I contemplated the repairs that needed doing to the hull on the starboard side, once again I opted for cutting deep. I do not want to have to come back to this particular job again if I can help it. So this morning I broke out the angle grinder and cut out another large section of wasted steel. By the end of the day I had welded a new piece in its place. It is a quarter inch plate, and if I paint it well it should give at least another fifty years of service, long enough I am sure for me not to have to worry about it again. All is well. |
