After a very pleasant run up the Gulf of St Vincent we eventually entered Port Adelaide Outer Harbour at 10.30. As there was a ship coming in at the same time as we were entering, and also because the breeze was becoming light and fitful, I decided to furl the jib and start the BRM (bright red machine). We allowed the ship to pass then continued motoring the additional eight miles up the Port River to arrive alongside at 1 a.m. this morning.

After a bit of a sleep, Sylph is now all washed down, cleaned up, and sail covers on. Now it is time to head into to town to watch my brother John umpire a cricket match. Then we might share an ale.

All is well.
