Today we had sufficient open water to be able to sail.  With a light head wind blowing I decided to wait at anchor until the tide had turned so as to avoid endless tacking back and forth in the same spot.  Thus it was that we sailed from anchor after lunch, all very civilised.  It has been a beautiful day for a sail, and it cheered me up enormously.  As the sun approached the western horizon Sylph was approaching St Helena Island.  It looked a good spot to spend the night so at five o’clock the anchor chain rattled over the bow roller and here we now lay for the night.

All is well.
