This morning we got underway at 0830. We have achieved a little bit of maintenance on Sylph, attending to a few small rust spots and installing a new VHF radio complete with digital selective calling (the old one had been playing up for quite some time). I have also all but completed my final assignment of the final unit (I hope) for my degree – Alleluia! And we have made some new friends, Matt and Sally from Alchemy II. So, all in all, it has been a productive stop over.

As we motored out through the breakwaters and past Korffs Islet we noticed that the sea was a dark brown, almost blood red. We speculated that it was perhaps fallout from all the bush fires, or perhaps, more likely, sediment stirred up by the dredging operations that have been going on in the harbour.

Next stop is either Camden Haven or Port Stephens, depending on the wind.

All is well.
