Alongside Piriapolis
Wind: Southwest F4 - moderate breeze
Weather: Overcast, mild

Another maintenance day today. I dropped the spare headsail in this morning’s calm for a close inspection as I suspect it is going to have to serve us for some time to come in some pretty extreme conditions. It all looks pretty sound but I will reinforce the clew ring with some webbing before I hoist it again. Then I put the dinghy in the water and replaced the broken bolt in the wind vane. I have checked all the bolts and tightened everything up so hopefully this particular problem won’t recur for many more miles. Much of the rest of the day was spent up the mast replacing the wire to the tri-light at the masthead. I have had so many problems with this light in the last several months and there is now a number of joins in the wire run both above and below deck, I decided the safest thing to do is to replace the whole lot. I have just tested it and the tri-light works but the anchor light does not. I shall have to investigate this further tomorrow.

I have a list of jobs a mile long, still have not decided the immediate plan yet. I expect it will make itself clearer to me over the next couple of days.

All is well.

Bob Cat:

Peaceful days alongside, much better then our last stop, noisy place that was. This piece of land (not that I have set paw ashore now for a long, long time) is much more peaceful. Much better for . . . Zzzzzzz.
