The winds have continued to lighten over the last 24 hours, and the mainsail was starting to slat as Sylph rolled to the swell in the light winds. There is nothing more trying to my nerves, not even a full gale, than a slatting mainsail. But overnight the wind backed into the nor’ nor’ east and freshened a tad. We now run square, wing on wing, Sylph’s bow-wave hissing, sails full and drawing, as we climb back up to five knots and more.
