Moored Coffs Harbour
Wind: NE, F4 moderate breeze
Sea: calm Swell: negligible
Weather: sunny, mild

This morning we slipped the public mooring and moved about 100 meters to anchor on the south side of the jetty. One is only supposed to use a public mooring for 24 hours but I thought two nights should not attract any attention, though many other boats seem to ignore the 24 hour limit. In fact, the two other public moorings in Coffs Harbour have been occupied by two boats since I arrived and seem in no hurry to move. I guess as long as no other boats are queuing up to use the moorings, as often happens in Sydney Harbour, then it is not really a problem; however, I for one do not want to push my luck.

Once settled at anchor I broke out the paint pots and attended to a few small spots of rust that have broken out since leaving Adelaide. This afternoon's mission is to purchase a new laptop.

Looking at the weather forecast, Wednesday afternoon looks like the next opportunity to continue North. A Southerly change will pass through in the early evening and the wind is forecast to stay in the South for about 36 hours before returning to the North. Hopefully 36 hours will be long enough for us to make the remaining 150 miles to Southport.

All is well.
