Another wet day, and a late start. During breaks in the rain I got the anodes on,

Then went into town to buy some polystyrene foam with which to fill the rudder. Back on board late in the afternoon I had a quick tidy up and a shower preparatory to a visit from Alvaro and his wife Mariabella. Alvaro works at the big hardware store in town and is the only one there that speaks a modicum of English. He is a real gentleman and we have become passing friends. I invited him on board for a beer and was privileged to also welcome his wife.

They have just left. Despite the language difficulties a very nice evening.

All is well.

Bob Cat:

Some strangers on board tonight. The skipper seemed to deem it necessary to show me off, but then, who can blame him for these small weaknesses. They’ve gone now. Hard tack, heater … zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
