Moored Estero Pindo
Wind: North F1-3 light air to moderate breeze
Weather: overcast, drizzle, mild

Today I woke up to rain and a northerly breeze, the direction we need to go in so decided to roll over and go back to sleep for a while. When I eventually crawled out of my nice warm bunk, stretched, yawned, scratched myself and BC, it was pretty late, almost 11 and still raining.

After pancakes for brunch I started the engine to charge the batteries and found the alternator was still not charging properly. Much grease and grime later I worked out that the new drive belt I had installed was marginally too big and I could not tighten it enough to prevent it from slipping. I found a shorter old belt which is not in the best of shape and fitted it. I will need to replace it soon as it looks like it won’t last long but at least the alternator is charging now.

The forecast looks good for a sail tomorrow.

All is well.

Bob Cat:

Another great day, sitting still, not moving, heater is on, I am nice and warm. I wonder if the skipper will top it off with a bit of tuna. Meantime I will not lose any … zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
