Weather: Sunny, warm and windy.

Still here, damn it! But almost ready to leave. Sylph is ready but I need organize a money wire transfer to pay for the new mainsail before we leave. Should have that done today and then we can be on our way.

An interesting Canadian single hander, Greg (Alcidae III out of Victoria, B.C.) arrived yesterday. He has just spent eight months in Patagonia and the Chilean channels so I have been questioning him thoroughly to learn as much as I can from his experience, especially as he did it solo. He has already given me some excellent advice on how to moor single handed in the difficult anchorages using a stern anchor to keep the boat under control and providing a relatively simple way of departing when the time comes.

It is rather windy right now, if it eases later today and I have the paperwork finished we may push off this afternoon.

I am not so sure about all this skipper. I think there might be some nice sun and balmy breezes the other way. Maybe we could catch a few fish, sit under a palm tree, you could go for a swim and I could bask in the sun. I am only the crew and no one ever asks me but if they did - well, my advice would definitely be to sleep on it before making any rash decisions. So taking Gandhi’s advice . . . Zzzzzzzz.
