The Australian sloop Sylph VI, Bob Williams (skipper) and Paul Wheatley (crew and ship’s videographer), supported by The Annapolis Bookstore (www.annapolisbookstore.com) is preparing for a voyage north to the land of icebergs – Greenland, there to plant a time capsule.  The time capsule will contain an autographed copy of Al Gore’s book “An Inconvenient Truth”.  The purpose of our voyage is explore this fascinating area touching at Newfoundland en route and to increase awareness of climate change and encourage bold corrective action.  As we sail north we will be leaving some signed copies of Al Gore’s book at interesting locations, notifying their location through www.bookcrossing.com.  Ultimately we plan to locate a suitable iceberg or glacier where we can bury our time capsule, hopefully for some future person to discover.  We would like people now to think about what that person might think of us, what sort of world are they likely to inhabit, will they judge us favorably: did we recognize, accept responsibility for and do our best to solve the problems of our generation.
