Early Saturday (14th) morning we took the Interislander ferry from Wellington to Picton.

Sunrise while we are waiting to board the Ferry.

Leaving Wellington we can see the snow topped mountains on the South Island.

After about 2 hours we have crossed Cook Strait.                                  A fellow traveller.

The current runs strong entering Queen Charlotte Sound.                                                                      Fish farm.

                                         Front end and                                                                                                                back end.

Meeting a sister ship..                                                                                             A bit of mist appears.

We reach Picton after 3h 15m.

We now plan to explore the South Island for the coming weeks.
