In search for a calmer harbor we arrived at Port Allen (Hanapepe Bay). The marina is being rebuild so we had to anchor in the harbor next to the pier.
Set anchor and a stern line to shore and were informed that “US Navy is at war with Hawaii so we would get in trouble with the navy.”
Ended up anchored outside the breakwater wall.
It’s 17:00hs and an expedition up river is at order. Not many nice places to explore on the southern cost of Kaua’i.
