Hello Sailingfriends,
Dawnbreaker have now arrived in Tahiti after approx. 5000 NM sailing from
Puerto Montt, Chile.
In my original plans I would now turn right and sail for Hawaii and on to
Alaska.
Unfortunately I have had to change these plans as I can not get a visa for
USA here in Tahiti. To get one I will have to fly to Auckland, New
Zealand.
My revised plans are now to spend the coming months here in French
Polynesia and explore the area. Later next year I will probably head for New
Zealand.
The trip to Alaska will be put on hold for a couple of years.
We are now moored in Papeete to refill stores and do some repairs. Papeete
is a noisy big city and we want to leave as soon as possible.
Steve and Mike will leave the boat here and fly home.
From Papeete I will sail to Moorea, Huahine, Raiatea and Bora Bora in the
Society Islands. After this back to the Touamotos to explore more of the nice
atolls
(Rangiroa, Ahe, Takaroa and more). Later in the new year I will sail up to
the Marquesas (Nuku Hiva, Hiva Oa, Fatu Hiva and more).
In April-May I will head further West to Cook Islands, Tonga and Fiji
Islands. About November it is time to head for New Zealand.
We are now 3 persons on board. With me on board are Fred and Grete, it is
not decided for how long they will stay.
I have room fo 2-3 new crew that want to sail in the South Pacific.
If you want to come sailing, please let me know and we will sort out the
details.
Calm sailing,
Lars
P.S. MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR! A hear that the winter came
early in Europe. Here we have 30C both in the air and the
water. |
