In the morning several large katamarans arrive completely charged with tourists (they really squeeze out as much money as ever possible from every square meter of boat). On the beach are two bars serving drinks and snacks with loud music but in the afternoon they are all gone and paradise is back.

The island is a nesting ground for sea turtles so Mercedes spent most time in  the water. Sadly we learned to know that carpets of sargassum stranding on the island can be a huge problem for the newborns who have difficulties to reach the surface for breathing. Ecology is complicated. Who would be able to foresee that growing soy around Amazonas,Missisippi ,and Kongo river would create problems to breathe for newborn seaturtles....
