Returning to Honfleur we had some more days waiting for a weatherwindow to Guernsey in the Channel Islands.
When we arrived in Honfleur we were assisted by a Swedish singlehanded sailor who arrived Honfleur in the autumn and hibernated in Vieux Basin over the winter. Being a painter he liased with other painters in the village, met Cardine and rented a gallery where he opened his exposition when we were there. Mercedes who studied fine arts and is a painter herself liked very much his art which consists mainly of marine motives and so we were invited to the gallery opening.
Several paintings were sold already this first day and many "knowhowers" seemed to like the art.
There was also time to visit local shops in Honfleur among other things to buy Calvados which is a pride for Normandie.
At our time of departure Cardine came with some friends and joined us by boat all way to the locks out in river Seine.
Honfleur was really a great experience from many perspectives and hopefully some day we will be back.
