Coming out in opens sea, away from influence of Gran Canaria,we came into established tradewind conditions with 15-20kts broad reach and 2mtr seas. With a full mainsail and major part of the genoa furled out,we kept a speed of 6,8-7,0kts the first days. All in all comfortable conditions and we reasonably fast came into routines of being under way in tradewind conditions. The Atlantic in this part of Westafrica is very nutritious and marine life plenty. Large pods of dolphins regularly visited Dora Mac sometimes spending long time playing around the boat, and also playing with the paravanes ! Bianca is not allowed to stick her head out watching !
Phosphorescence is abundant and to follow the tracks of playing dolphins in the dark is beautiful.
