Day 1 at sea , still under calm circumstances we started to notice slight vibrations and intermittent mechanical sounds in the aft cabin. The sounds seemed to be related with the propellershaft and worsened in seawaymovements.
It worsened a bit during the day and after sunset I found myself forced to check the propeller and shaft by diving.
We stopped Dora Mac and with a good uw-light I checked rudder, shaft and propeller without any signs of damage or foreign material.
I also moved the propeller without any obvious signs of increased play in the outlet of the shaft.
From the engineroom we could see some water in the bilge (saltwater) that could be a slight leak from the shaftseal but propellershaft, jackshaft and shaft seal all looked fine from the engineroom.
Knowing we would get stronger winds and up to 2 mtr seas on the beam late night I was expecting worsening stress on the shaft/propeller with worsening sounds also increasing my stress.
