Born May 16 1933 , my mother became 85 years old yesterday. With crystal clear memories already from the second world war she has lived and seen the fall of Germany and Nazi tyranny,the cold war and the Cuban missile crisis, the fall of the Soviet communist empire,the landing of man on the moon,the victory of capitalism,globalisation and western liberal democracy conquering the world (allthough now on decline).
She has seen a technical development like never before in history and an outstanding growth of welth in one of the worlds most progressive countries.
We came with Dora Mac to Saltsjöbaden, the village where she lives (and where I grew up). After cake and champagne for breakfast we headed on the waterways to central Stockholm for dinner on one of my mothers favourite restaurants.
