We chose the botanical garden surrounding Monte Palace Hotel.

Originally a private estate belonging to the British councel Charles Murray late 19th century it was bought by a Portuguese millionaire who transformed into Monte Palace Hotel. Many celebrities have visited this magnificent hotel for it´s tranquility,beautiful view and the surrounding garden.Today it´s owned by a financial institution of Madeira and open to visitors.

We spent half a day in this beautiful garden where everything grows (also many plants from other parts of the world) and taking the cable car back to Funchal in the evening, the view is breathtaking.
