Procida is perhaps best known as the small island between it´s more famous neighbours Capri and Ischia.

Still the island is well recognised for it´s beauty and made famous by Hollywood through the films The Talented Mr Ripley (Matt Damon,Jude Law and Gwyneth Paltrow) as well as Cleopatra (Richard Burton/Liz Taylor),but perhaps the Italian film Il Postino is the most awardwinning film made here.

Having a forecast with days of settled weather we chose to drop anchor in the bay of Marina Corricella in the "cala" south of the village.

This is a drop dead beautiful place to be.The village is very colourful and tranquile (at least this time of the year) and with a fleet of small charmy fishingboats coming and going. We walked the narrow streets all over the village also to the more busy northern shores,and made long swims (wetsuit) in the bay for excercise. It was just a pity our schedule didn´t allow us to stay more than three days.

In the year of 2022,Procida was chosen the "Cultural Capital of Italy",the first time this title was awarded an island.
