When transferring fuel the gauge at the fuelpolishfilter went high on tank nr 2. Opening the tank we found a layer of dieselbug on it´s floor. Remnant diesel in the tank was evacuated and the tank cleaned out. That means scraping layers of bug from the walls of the tank and lift it out manually. Following schoolbook walls should then be cleaned with alcohol which we had no time for but refueling the tank naturally dieselbug protection was added.
All tanks have now been cleaned during the years when presenting high gauge values on polishing fuel and with the new more environmental diesel combined with big tanks this will be an ongoing problem. Adding protecting fueladditive helps but doesn´t solve the problem entirely.
