After two days anchored in Nordfiordvaag weather deteriorated with rain, drizzle and fog. We decided to head for the bottom of the fiord hoping to see something of the famous glacier Svartisen (the largest glacier in Norway) but when reaching the bottom of the fiord lowlying clouds and fog reduced visibility and allthough the glacier almost reaches the sealevel it could not be seen. Waterfalls from the glacier empties into the sea from several places around the bottom of the fiord mixing freshwater with seawater giving the water it´s peculiar and beautiful colouration.
As seen from the electronic chart the fiord is deep.
