After some days servicing Dora Mac,waiting out bad weather we left Svolvaer crossing Vestfjorden in beautiful summerweather . Again we saw a family of killerwhales allthough to far in distance for good photos.
In the evening we made landfall in a completely protected small fiord with room for only a couple of boats with the name Nusfjord. Today still a small fishingcommunity this place is very popular among tourists. Nusfjord was on the national news since the whole community was bought up by a private entrepreneur, something very unusual in Scandinavia and controversial.
Nevertheless it´s a very pittoresque settlement and good starting point for mountainwalking. Allthough well protected, storms from southwest create a dangerous swell in the harbour.
