Just a couple of days later the engineroom fan shut down (used for bringing cold air into the engineroom). This time the fanmotor was dead as well and the fan was replaced for a refurbished spare (collectors, coals and bearings replaced) all working well.
In the morning the day after the shower fan in aft cabin died but it was easily rectified by changing a corroded/broken contact.

I have read several times in trawler magazines as well as in threads in trawler forums, that there´s a significant proportion of new owners of trawlers that resell in short time. As suggested by some authors I think the reason is the amount of work required to keep a trawler  going which to some new owners seems to be a surprise. Oceangoing trawlers (be it Nordhavn,Kadey Krogen, Diesel Duck or Fleming),are big complex boats equipped with many complex systems.
Just as a simple example, Dora Mac is equipped with 14 different pumps, (10 have been replaced during my ownership) and 13 fans (5 have been replaced). As a comparison my old 32ft Scandinavian double ender(that crossed the Atlantic 4times and sailed 40.000Nm) had no fans and no electrical pumps. Water and bilgepumps were mechanical.
Pumps and fans have a limited lifespan and if you have many you have comfort but it comes to the price of work. The size of boats have also increased dramatically during my lifetime and there´s a limit when you need crew just to be able to maintain your boat.
